Charice Pempengco is a Filipino International Singing Sensation who rose to popularity through YouTube. Charice has been singing since she was four and has been joining singing contests one after the other with the hopes of winning the prize money so they can have food to put on their table.
It wasn't until an avid fan posted her jaw-dropping performances on YouTube that suddenly this Little Girl with the Big Voice burst through the computer and into the hearts of millions of people across the globe racking up several million views online.
This discovery led to several television appearances including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and then The Oprah Winfrey Show, stunning audiences and bringing both Ellen and Oprah to tears.
Oprah was so impressed by Charice that she called legendary music producer David Foster, who then, without hesitation, turned Charice into his newest protégé. Since then Charice has appeared alongside many of today's top stars such as Katharine McPhee, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Alicia Keys and Celine Dion.
Today she continues to WOW audiences not only with her goose bump-inducing voice, but with power and emotion rarely heard in one who is so young.

Pempengco was relatively unknown outside of the Philippines before FalseVoice
of YouTube started posting her videos on his channel which then earned her an invitation to record some songs in Sweden in June 2007 and eventually a guest appearance on a talent show in Korea called “Star King” in October of the same year. Since then, a lot of YouTubers uploaded her performance on that show. LOOKING BACK ....
Charice says the argument escalated, and her dad grabbed a shotgun and pointed it at her mom. "My dad was about to shoot my mom, and I couldn't do anything," she says.
Neighbors heard screams and broke down the door just in time. Fraternidad, a former neighbor, remembers it clearly. "The gun [was] pointed to the mother and then the children are crying," she says.
Charice and her mother escaped with their lives. "We left my dad, and after that, I never saw him and I don't want to see him," she says. "I'm just singing now for my mom. I didn't help her before. That's why I want to help her now."

The episode was entitled "World's Smartest Kids" and featured 10 gifted children in their specific field. Charice was the only guest who sang. Charice sang Whitney Houston's - "I Have Nothing".
Charice was invited to the Grand Opening Weekend Celebration of MGM Grand in Foxwoods, Connecticut on May 17, 2008. She sang a medley of Whitney Houston songs, namely "I Will Always Love You" and "I Have Nothing". The audience gave her the only standing ovations of the night and they also cheered her on to perform another song. David Foster on the piano immediately played "And I Am Telling You" from the Dreamgirls Movie soundtrack and Charice sang it unrehearsed which earned her another standing ovation from the crowd.
